United States of America is no doubt a blessed country. The long unbroken history of its judiciary system and politics is a hallmark of a civilized society. The constitution of the United States is the instrument, which is keeps everything intact in this country.
In U.S, the political parties nominate the candidates which will appear for the election whereas some contest elections as independents. Every state has significant discretion in determining the number of candidates to be nominated. The candidates belonging to political parties are normally chosen through party convention whereas independents have to complete petitioning process before contesting for elections.
The two major political parties in United States are Democratic Party and Republican Party. Both of these parties are national parties and the president of United States of America is most likely from either of the two parties.
However, the political parties in United States are loosely organized than political parties in other countries. Like for example, in United States any one can become member of the party by merely declaring the fact.
United States does not have a parliamentary system, i.e. the governing coalitions cannot be formed after the elections. However, the coalitions can form before the elections under the umbrella of party organizations.
